Nancy Foner, a member of IRI’s Advisory Board, had an opinion piece featured in Vital City, which highlighted how immigration is essential to New York City. The piece cites data from IRI staff, David Dyssegaard Kallick and Anthony Capote, about what kinds of jobs immigrants have in the city which highlights their essential role in the New York City economy. The piece goes on to discuss how immigrants help revitalize neighborhoods, make the city safer, and how they have enriched New York City’s culture.
